I have been working for the better part of a decade, here and there, on a full-length black comedy called Revolution. It is set in the civil-war-torn fictional country of Gondwana, in which quite a lot of people are pretending to be what they are not. I was able to direct the first act of Revolution in Cornell's Black Box series.
Conversely, I wrote Mise en abyme, a meta-theatrical one-act, in three furious days. Four characters take turns telling stories that they all enact, in a series of nested frame stories that never quite seem to come back to where they began. I have been told it is reminiscent of Pirandello.
