My name is Robert Surton.
I am a philomath.
I have a houseful of funky, post-gender children,
whom I homeschool in collaboration with my partner,
Elizabeth.
I am a computing scientist,
because I hate computers
and I believe they can be better.
I teach and research.
I am currently studying ways for humans to use computers
as tools of decolonization.
I play
taijiquan
and
capoeira,
make food and music,
shape wood and metal,
ride a bicycle, walk, read,
act on the stage,
and occasionally write plays.
I grow, brew, and drink tea.
I usually don't wear shoes.
I am pansexual and polyamorous. 🏳️🌈
I am an anarchist after Ursula K Le Guin.
I have written a little poem about our times.
I speak English fluently,
and enough Spanish and French to get by.
I take he/him/his pronouns.
You might have once known me as Robert Burgess.
I welcome personal contact.
My curriculum vitæ will tell you how to reach me.
